Things To Do

The Walter Reid Cultural Centre is an initiative of the state government to provide facilities which encourage the arts. There are a variety of services and activities which change regularly.

This unique structure is set in a natural amphitheatre and designed to amplify sound and maximize acoustic effects. The venue is available for hire and is used for carols, operas and the like.

Admission to the park is free, though small fees are payable for special tours, fossicking or camping. They are known for their on site thunder eggs, and locally produced pewter and gemstone products are available for sale.

The Rockhampton City Council runs the City Art Gallery, although unfortunately provides little up to date information on the regularly changing exhibitions. Admission is free and they are open every day, excluding Mondays. For more information it is recommended you call the Art Gallery directly.

The Rockhampton Golf Club is a local establishment where you can practice your skills or compete. They hold regular competitions, functions and events.
